“Join us for this rousing tale, Not meant for the weak and frail!” Yes, the beloved yarn of Jack and the Giant will come to life with the help of talented actors, singers and dancers this Fall! So many fantastic parts—Jackie, Mom, Mr. and Mrs. Giant, the Bean Seller, the Sack of Gold, the Magic Hen and the Enchanted Harp—are up for grabs! This colorful musical also boasts surprise, comedic guests including Hazel the Personal Trainer, Soxie the Sassy Parrot, Mimi the Messy Maid, Gergo the Humdrum Chef and a host of delightful Barnyard Friends! Follow Jackie up the beanstalk while you keep time with the catchy show tunes! Musically directed by Matthew Surapine! Directed and choreographed by Sally Szabo-Lombardo! Written by Sally & George Lombardo.

WHAT TO BRING

ALL STUDENTS need black ballet or “jazz” shoes (tie or slip-on) to bring to every class to wear to dance in and to wear for the show. We provide costumes but girls will need their own tights to wear with their costume.
3-ring binder to hold script and music
Access to a home computer/internet to practice music learning files and choreography videos which will be uploaded as songs are learned.

Snow White

Learn to sing, act and dance while putting on a big musical! In Crystal Theatre’s version of the classic fairy-tale—Snow White—our heroine leaves her old life behind and discovers that “it’s nice to be needed”. Our 7 dwarves (6 brothers and one overworked sister) provide a safe haven when Snow White escapes death at the hands of the kind woodsman who has been ordered to “dispose of” the girl due to her Stepmother, Queen Vanity’s jealousy. Narrated by the storytelling Troubadours and their friends, the ditsy “Troubadettes”, Snow White is ultimately saved from the endless sleep delivered by Queen Vanity’s magic by the advice of The Oracle and his assistant who foretell the arrival of a handsome Prince who will end the spell through “a gift of love”. Reinforcing values of friendship, family and love this musical will get you in the holiday spirit while moving your musical theatre skills up to the next level. Directed by Heidi Xethalis with choreography by Gillian Eckert, musical direction by Cheryl Kemeny and costumes by Alexandrea Kemeny.

GIRLS must provide their own tights & footwear.
For this show black “character” shoes are needed at ALL rehearsals. They look like “Mary Janes” with a 1 or 1.5 inch heel.
Girls need spaghetti strap camisoles for trying on their costumes.
BOYS need black jazz shoes. They can either be slip-on or tie shoes and are needed at all rehearsals. They can be purchased cheaply on Amazon.com or at Attitude Dance on Westport Ave in Norwalk if you want to try them on.

A Spinning Tale (Rumpelstiltskin)

A SPINNING TALE (Rumpelstiltskin) is the rollicking musical comedy which ran Off-Broadway at Playhouse 91 for 5 months in 1990. In this expanded version, Rumpelstiltskin (the last of the Woodland Elves) is in search of a friend. He can spin straw into gold and therefore must hide from the greedy humans who wish to capture him and make use of his talent. Enter a boastful miller and his bumbling Cronies, his lovely daughter Melinda, a greedy King who is hard of hearing, his flirtatious Queen, 3 charming French ladies-in-waiting, a naïve handsome Prince, a host of forest dwelling denizens and colorful courtiers and you have the makings of high-jinx and tuneful tomfoolery! Develop your acting, dancing and singing skills while performing in a fully staged and costumed musical.
