Stacey Curti has a dedicated career in the performing arts, with over twenty years’ experience as a performer, director, choreographer and business manager. Originally from California, she grew up performing and choreographing in Children’s and Community Theater, and started teaching and choreographing at the age of fifteen. Stacey continued her love of performing arts by earning her BA in Drama with an emphasis in Musical Theatre from the University of California at Irvine, and touring internationally with Up With People.
After relocating to the east coast, she worked in arts management for several years as the Program’s Manager for New York City Dance Alliance and the Company Manager for New York City Theatrical Events. Additionally, she served as the Managing Director of the Play Group Theater in White Plains, and earned her Certificate in Arts Management from SUNY Purchase. Stacey started working at Crystal Theatre in 2004 as a choreographer for Arts in the Park. Since then, Stacey has worked on dozens of shows, including Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, The Fabulous Forties, High School Musical and Godspell. In addition to Crystal Theatre, Stacey teaches acting classes for Performing Arts Programs throughout Fairfield and New Haven Counties.
Outside of the theater, Stacey is a full-time mom to her daughters Marisa and Amanda, and the three of them enjoy many ‘Crystal Theatre Sing-a-longs’ in their living room! She has been thrilled to pass on her love of theater to Marisa, who has performed at Crystal Theatre since she was four. Stacey believes that “theater allows a child to take chances, build self-confidence, and make new friends, which are invaluable skills that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.”
